So my mom and I are arguing about a rat. Remy the Rat to be exact. You know the rat from Ratatouille? Well Ratatouille isn’t doing so well in the theaters and my mom thinks it’s because it stars a rat and all of Pixar’s movies star more ‘normal’ things like talking cars or talking fish yeah that’s really normal . I think Remy is cute. I mean for a rat so I decided that it’s mostly people with a rat phobia are the people who won’t like Remy. And frankly that is mostly women. Now I’m not saying that men aren’t scared of rodents too but women seem to be more likely scared and that includes me. My house is old and they are doing construction across the street from our house so we’ve had rat problems. And when that happens my mom jumps on the table and squeals and I don’t mean scream I mean squeal. So I researched phobias a little bit and here’s what I found out.

U.S. Weekly defines a Phobia as: a persistent and,irrational fear of an animal, activity or situation. So that means that there really isn’t a rational way to define why a person is afraid of that thing. U.S. Weekly also says that the person may become weak or cowardly when being exposed to the stimulus(what they are afraid of). And the person could be a real threat to the object if it’s tangible like a rat they could like I dunno shoot it. That wouldn’t be good. So if you think about it then Ratatouille is a stimulus to that persons phobia I think that a lot of times Moms is the parent that takes the child to the movies unless you’re in my situation where you go with you’re dad when your mom is busy. Therefore the movies aren’t making a lot of money because even if the parent doesn’t have a phobia to rats then maybe they just don’t like the idea of a rat in a restaurant. I think that’s ridiculous because I mean the rat is in the guys hair and he like to cook and he isn’t touching the food with his paws and he lives in the sewer not in the restaurant that might not have helped Isn’t he cute I mean how can you not like him? It’s like not liking Sisky Business in The Academy is (he’s the bassist google Adam T. Siska or search Youtube) right? or at least for me.
