Hark! I hear Christmas bells! I know that it’s after Christmas but I had the BEST Christmas! I didn’t even get the really big things that I wanted like and iPod Touch 16 GB or a new Computer but I got things that I needed. Like I got this kick butt watch that is water resistant that my little brother got me from Target. I am wearing it now and it says that it’s 9:07pm and I needed a watch for school especially in my Spanish class when I can’t wait to get out. Then my sister got me a not just one but TWO pair of earbuds that support Breast Cancer which I have been rocking. My other brother got me Fall Out Boy’s new CD that I haven’t really got a chance to listen to yet but what I heard was awesome. But it was the best because we invited some friends of the family over and we had dinner WITHOUT going all of the way to see all of my family. We left our house today so we could do that but we are able to spend time with our family and we had a little family Christmas full of board games and video games. So I just hope that no matter what holiday you celebrate make sure you really look at your family and how much you actually appreciate them.
Yule Tidings! (whatever that means)

On Thursday I am going to get 2 wisdom teeth, that aren’t even above my gums, extracted. Yes that is one week before Christmas but I want to get it over with. The teeth are pushing my other teeth forward and interfering with my braces and I want my braces off ASAP. I have had my braces on for 2 1/2 years and I was only supposed to have them on for 2 years. Now that same weekend I want to dance with my church’s dance ministry in these really cool nutcracker piece for Christmas. So of course I am DYING to do it because I haven’t really danced with them in the past and I wanted to do it. I tell them that I am getting teeth extracted, mind you I am getting my teeth done Thursday and I have rehearsal on Saturday an then on Sunday we Minister (perform). Now I am really REALLY excited for it and I tell them about the extraction and they were like “Are you crazy! You’re gonna be dancing with drool coming out of the side of your mouth.” Now I am thinking that this is absurd so I start talking to my dad about it. He said that he had a similar surgery when he was my age and he was awake (I won’t be HOPEFULLY. It’s my parents choice) and he said that it’s a traumatic experience and I’ll lose a lot of blood. He also said that I will probably be in pain for like a long time. Now it gets better and better. My mother got three of her wisdom teeth, that were impacted, removed earlier this year. She didn’t know that she scheduled an appointment for that (Hey she’s a busy woman with a hectic life!) so she scheduled an for my braces the same day. So I ended up watching her and seeing her for like I have to say 2 weeks she couldn’t really EAT anything and we went to see family in Michigan and she couldn’t really SAY anything, and her NECK hurt her neck mind you she got TEETH removed not her neck, but the pressure from the needle and scaple (is that how you spell it?) hurt her neck. So I am still being optimistic until here’s the stickler. I talked to my Theater Arts teacher and he is the advisor for the Drama Club and we were supposed to put on a play on Friday (the day after my surgery) and I told him that I was getting mouth surgery but not to worry I will try and participate. And he ‘punched’ me. He acted like he was going to because I would be in so much pain that I may not even come to school for the next half week (because of the break). Well because we (Drama Club) weren’t prepared to perform it he switched the dates until after break but on Thursday night at Parent Teacher Confrences he said he was thinking about it and how much it was going to hurt and how I wouldn’t even get out of bed for like ever he made MY mouth hurt. Needless to say I will be in so much pain that I will have to miss school the week that I have several tests. I just wish I was born with naturally perfect, straight, white teeth and this wouldn’t be a problem. I’ll post a post-surgery blog and it will be something to the effect of “I’m in pain. A lot of PAIN!”
Life is wonderful

Well not much to say today but since I haven’t been blogging I thought I would give it a try. So I was thinking about the Grammys this year. I am seeing a lot of nods for Coldplay, John Mayer Jason Mraz, Duffy, Leona Lewis, and Madonna. With that being said I was think about when your song or album had to come out for it to be considered for a Grammy nomination. Like I saw Daft Punk on the nomination list for ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’ which is the song that Kanye West’s song Stronger is samped off of and that came out in like mid ‘07 and it’s just getting a nod I mean what is that? I like Daft Punk but really?
Just some food for thought

Ok I just saw Twilight. Can we say DISTURBING!!!! I am normally a huge fan but I just felt like Edward really was looking at Bella like she was something to eat and he was possessive and he reminded me of an abusive boyfriend. In the book he was like curious but he wasn’t dense. Robert Pattinson (Edward) is a vampire that falls in love with Bella, a human, and craziness breaks loose. But the Edward in the book was gentle and love he lightly and he kind of hated himself but he gave up trying to scare her and I think that he was always looking like “She’s mine, back off” but she would look kind of like “Sorry but he said, even though I do like you.” so I really felt like I needed to take a shower afterward. I still thought it was an AMAZING movie but I felt like if I were a different person I would be completely turned off but I’m not so I’m not turned off but I don’t know anyone who got that same creepy possessive boyfriend vibe.

HEYlo! I was laying in bed last night and think about all of these random thougths. Well I thought that I would call this Food For Thought.
So I was watching the Olympics and thought about a couple of things. Project Runway had a challenge where they had to make an opening ceremony outfit for the athletes. Well this guy made an outfit that was blue and red and he [the designer] said that he thought that it might look too much like a wonder woman outfit, and Michael Kors (a judge) said something kind of special. He said that Olympic athletes are the closest thing that we’ve got to wonder woman.
Now really chem on this. These athletes train and bleed and sweat just to represent AMERICA. Now I think that these guys has more guts that anyone who thinks that blowing someone else’s country is representing is surely mistaken.
Chew on That

I know you guys probably don’t know this but I am a HUGE Olympic fan I don’t care what Olympic (Summer/Winter) but I will be watching as much as possible. I mean that Opening Ceremony WHOA! But this particular Olympic has raised some controversy. I personally love the underdog so I feel like Beijing deserves the Olympics. My grandma says that she wouldn’t go because of their human rights and I totally understand but the vagueness of that makes me think of America. I mean human rights isn’t always in the forefront of our prez’s mind. But besides that I noticed that the sky may be blue in Beijing but you couldn’t tell. I feel sooooo bad for Beijing. I mean I would hate if I could NEVER see the sky. So I am watching as I type the Men’s 400M Freestyle Relay.
This Relay was really important for Michael Phelps especially who is one a mission to win about 8 gold medals so this race will help him or not. Well this was a race not to be soon forgotten. The world record was shattered I would have to say by about 4 seconds which is HUGE! So the french team comes out saying this quote: “The Americans? We’re going to smash them. That’s what we came here for.” Well that guy was wrong. American slipped the race by .12 seconds I mean it was THIS close! Michael Phelps needless to say was overjoyed about it. I have to say that it was an amazing race.
Hey did you know that Bernie Mac died? Sad Ain’t it.
Much love!

Hello everyone well I have a surprise! Now close your eyes
Now open them!

Aren’t you glad to know that I am a Haunted House. As usual I got this quiz from The-N.com and I have to say this is the first one that I think is dead wrong.
I am NOT dark and mysterious if anything I have upfront about everything and then some. I do NOT like to freak people out I do have a friend however that tells all of these random facts that are kind of creepy. And last but not least… I HATE haunted houses.
I have hated haunted houses since Halloween in the 2nd grade I think it was. I went with my friend ‘H’ to her parish for their haunted house. Now the haunted house was in the field house and it was very scary. I saw blood and guts doctors operating on people un-sedated. Neeless to say it was not fun so this one is wrong so I have to say that I am a little disappointed. So try it out and see if yours comes out right.

Ok well the definition for iconoclast is: 1) A breaker or destroyer of images esp. ones of religious reverance
2) A person who attacks cherished beliefs, traditional institution, etc., based on error or superstition.
Now with that being said there is this great show on the Sundance Channel called Iconoclast. Last night I saw the Iconoclast with Alicia Keys and Ruby Dee , which I highly suggest, and I thought about other ‘iconoclasts’ and how you become one. Basically I was really thinking about people who have tried to get other people to ‘Think Outside The Box’ I call these people ‘Think Outside The Boxers’ no pun intended. So these Think Outside The Boxers really do try and change peoples minds.
Since I have been thinking (Uh Oh!) about who was/is an iconoclast. Now I also thought about how Iconoclasts aren’t really like the definition. I think that Iconoclasts have became a phenomenon. For example Disney.
Now my mom says that before Disney there was just public television. I am not talking about way back when it was just Mickey Mouse, but when the network came on. Now Disney makes shows like Hannah Montana and Cory In The House that before would have been out of the norm. But on the other hand you could argue that since now there is Nickelodeon and maybe some other television networks that have the same mold. Now Nickelodeon is much more cartoon oriented to me but at the same time it still makes ‘original movies’ and has the same executive producer for practically every show, Dan Schneider, who has made shows like All That which ran for twelve years, The Amanda Show, Drake And Josh, and Zoey 101, and last but certainly not least, iCarly. Now Nickelodeon did come first by a few years but Disney did a lot of remodeling now it is like the child’s channel. I mean that you’ll definitely think of Hannah Montana and High School Musical but you wouldn’t really think of SpongeBob SquarePants recently they thought of Zoey 101 because the star was pregnant…at 17.
Now with that said how do YOU define an Iconoclast?

I think that ignorance is dangerous but I mean the word ‘Sure’ should be a bad word because you have me a girl who really does want to help and I am good at it but there is this thing 90% of the time that is like “I really don’t want to do this.” but I just suck it up smile and say “Sure!” (the exclamation point is important. If you are reluctant then they won’t want your help) I am a very good public speaker and my church is a church that is very interested in the youth ministry. With this being said we are having an International Day soon and I am dancing with the dance ministry but on Friday someone emails me and says “Oh Imani I know it’s short notice but I want you to do a 2 minute presentation on Israel.” Now I am sure that this is very honorable but at the same time I wish I had time because I know little to nothing about Israel but being the good person that I am I jovially said “Sure!” and I have to have it done with pictures and facts about every aspect of their culture by 2more. So with that being said I am learning how to say No and I think that some people should join me!
Doesn anyone know anything about Israel?
